Hur amerikanska presidenter har reagerat när det gäller israeliskt våld ger Barak Obama oss en lektion i

Så här lät det när israeliska bosättare attackerades och sköts ner från nära håll av Hamasmän på Västbanken, tisdag kväll;
"I did want to specifically take some time out to speak to the people of Israel and to the region about

the senseless slaughter that took place near Hebron yesterday

Obama said.
”There are going to be extremists and rejectionists who, rather than seeking peace, are going to be seeking destruction, and the tragedy that we saw yesterday, where people were gunned down on the street by terrorists who are purposely trying to undermine these talks, is an example of what we're up against," Obama continued.
Obama expressed condolences from the American people to the families of the terror victims, and said that the U.S. is unwavering in its support of Israel's security.


"The United States is going to be unwavering in its support of Israel's security, and

we are going to push back against these kinds of terrorist activities

said the president". [1]

Bosättarna och deras aktiviteter är glasklara brott mot folkrätten.
Bosättarna har inte någon legitim rätt att befinna sig på Västbanken, och är den israeliska ockupationens förlängda arm och fungerar i praktiken som mänskliga sköldar.


Nästan på dagen 3 månader tidigare hade israeliska soldater mitt i natten attackerar flera hundra turkiska fredsaktivister på på internationellt vatten. Attacken mot båten Mavi Marmara lämnar 9 döda som skjutits över trettio gånger från nära håll, oftast i huvudet och rygg. 34 skadade varav 9 allvarligt.

Då lät det så här när Obama intervjuades på CNN av Larry King;
LARRY KING: Where you stand on that? A former American president has condemned it.
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: Well, you know, the United States, with the other members of the UN Security Council, said very clearly that we condemned all the acts that led up to this violence.

It was a tragic situation. You’ve got loss of life that was unnecessary

And so, we are calling for an effective investigation of everything that happened, and I think that the Israelis are going to agree to that, an investigation of international standards, because they recognize that this can’t be good for Israel’s long-term security.
Here’s what we’ve got. You’ve got a situation in which Israel has legitimate security concerns when they’ve got missiles raining down on cities along the Israel-Gaza border. I’ve been to those towns and seen the holes that were made by missiles coming through people’s bedrooms. So

Israel has a legitimate concern there

. On the other hand, you’ve got a blockade up that is preventing people in Palestinian Gaza from having job opportunities and being able to create businesses and engage in trade and have opportunity for the future.

LARRY KING: Premature, then, to condemn Israel?
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: Well, I think that we need to know what all the facts are, but it’s not premature to say to the Israelis and to say to the Palestinians and to say to all the parties in the region that the status quo is unsustainable.[2]

Den israeliska militären har ingen rätt att överhuvudtaget attackera turkiska båtar på internationellt vatten. Tilltaget är inget annat än vad som sker utan för Afrikas kust och brukar i alla andra fall, när inte Israel är inblandat , betraktas som rent sjöröveri.

Om inte Barak Obama kan visa upp mera respekt och avståndstagande för israeliska illdåd behöver han överhuvudtaget inte kommentera Hamas missgärningar.
